How (and when) did you get into your current field or company?
I’ve been working at Velir since 2013 and previously worked at Deloitte Consulting. I’ve always been interested in helping solve problems and love the idea of utilizing technology as an aid. As a solutions architect I have to take a holistic approach to an issue, understanding both the business aspect as well as the technology.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I’m not sure there is such a thing for me, but I’m typically juggling between client work, managing my team of solutions architects and focusing on internal projects.
What is the favorite part of your day?
Going for coffee breaks around Davis Square with my co-workers.
What excites you about working in your industry?
The constant change, which is also super intimidating. What’s trending today for sites may be ancient history tomorrow. The industry is constantly evolving and new technologies are introduced daily. This constant change never lets you get too comfortable with anything and forces you to continuously learn.
What is your favorite part of being a woman in STEM?
Meeting and working with other women.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I love calligraphy and have been fortunate to work on some of my best friends weddings.
What do you geek out about?
I love hand-written letters, comic book movies and baking.
