If there’s anything we love at She+ Geeks Out, it’s a good Instagram account. Bonus points for feeds featuring visual art by awesome women and other marginalized genders. We’ve rounded up 30 of our favorite accounts of Black women and other marginalized genders for you to follow. We’ve committed to sharing more of their work on our own accounts, but we encourage you to go directly to the source and show some love. Hint hint: many of these folks have prints available for purchase or commissions open.

Breonna Taylor, Regis Korchinski, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Laquan McDonald, Jermaine Carby, Tamir Rice, Jordan Davis, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, Sean Reed, Dante Parker and countless others. Remember their names, and do your part to make a change. Whether that be having a conversation with your family, going out to protest, providing food/water for protesters, signing petitions, donating, voting, educating yourself and others, in prayer, art activism, counselling, etc. This still hurts but I find comfort knowing that good will come out of this. All of this will not be in vain. 100% of profits will go to @chrisreddis covid-19 protest relief fund. Aiding in injuries obtain while protesting, bail relief and court expenses. Prints are available on @thecanvasagency shop (link also in bio) Also, I want thank everyone who has shared my work, messaged me and showed love these past few days, im very grateful and humbled for the crazy amount of support that has came my way. It has definitely played a part in lifting the heaviness ive been feeling. If you are looking for other black artists to support here are a few: @itaddy @sesensunshine @malik.roberts.art @nealsniat @hamwarz @africos “But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” – Amos 5:24 ❤️

Hey everyone! I was really feeling this way last week, and it just came out in this quick doodle that turned into a finished piece that I’m really proud of! I know many of you can relate, 2020 has been an ordeal, but we just have to keep moving forward. Love really is the answer. Treat people like you want to be treated. Check on your friends that you haven’t heard from in a while. It’s ok to be honest and real with how you’re feeling. Find people who you know truly care about you and share with them how you’re feeling. Find ways to bring your mind peace. Personally, I turn to God and I find time that I can meditate on his word and his promises. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ I hope everyone is doing well. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #art #artstagram #artoftheday #artlovers #sketchbook #artlife #artists #arts #drawing #pencilart #painting #traditionalart #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalpainting #sketch #procreate #photoshop #illustration #girl #portrait #blackart #blackgirlmagic #melanin #curlyhair #characterdesign #design #fashion #beauty #blackgirlsillustrate

We will Keep fighting. Please: Protest, #Donate and assist however you can whenever you can – also, call your friends to check on them. I have just spent two hours on the phone with my bff and I feel so grateful to have someone I can talk to without being gaslighted or having to explain why I feel the way I do – which has been tough for me. • We are basically helping each other through these challenging times. Trying to make sense of what’s going on in our lives. Our strength is to constantly questions ourselves and calling each other out compassionately. At the end of the call I also pointed out that instead of talking about the last book we read, our dream vacations and other light hearted topics, we HAD to dismantle our trauma so we can survive and go on with our lives. She didn’t even tell me she got a kitten (which is of most importance) all that to say, i fight so one day maybe, i can have a regular convo with my friends. • I am aware that in many ways I have lots of privileges – it doesn’t erase the fact I am still a WOC, a black woman – and I will do my best to help with erasing injustices.

To be In Solidarity is to be in unity with your feelings AND actions for a common interest. We all want to be seen, heard, and respected. Those common generousities have not always been extended to black people, natives, or queer folks. Right now, Black people need the solidarity of every single person reading this caption and beyond. It’s time for us to come together for the greater good. Liberate one in order to liberate all. I’m so excited about this design because for the past year @teresabaker11 @kulacloth and I have been conspiring to create a fundraiser for good. It felt like the right time to bring this to life. With the sales of this Kula cloth we will attempt to raise over $20k to be distributed to a few non profits in the outdoors that are working hard to change the narrative of what it means to be a minority or underrepresented in the outdoors. More information on the organizations and the product release date soon. Thank you @teresabaker11 for always being a catalyst for good and thank you @kulacloth team for giving your resources and platform. For now feel free to share this Image (tag is for cred) to start conversations in your community or to make someone smile! #insolidarity #weareinthistogether #blacklivesmatter #icantbreathe #cometogether #speakup #naturelover #blackwithplants #blackartist #blackgirlmagic #fundraiser #diversifyoutdoors

Most of us want peace. That won’t come with complacency. That won’t come unless we look in the mirror and really acknowledge how we treat people we deem as “other” in this world. Right now we are fighting for equality that was long over due. But within that we also see the nuance of the voices that get left out. We will continue to march until all injustices have been stomped out. So that the next generation, my beautiful nieces, the children i may one day have can live in a world that knows true peace. True harmony. Diversify your workforce. Be a proactive agent of change. If the events of the last week were your wake up call, if you are just realizing how many voices have gone unheard that you could’ve amplified, make changes. And don’t ever stop. Black Lives, Trans Lives, Black & Brown Immigrant Lives, MATTER. Let’s act like it.

BLACK WOMEN ARE ART ??? Also, I would like to thank everyone who has shared my work or purchased from my shop. And to everyone who has recently followed me, welcome! I am beyond grateful for all the love and support I have received, and I hope black artists, and voices, continue to be uplifted and amplified. There shouldn’t have to be a tragedy for black art to be recognized. Black lives matter. Black art matters. Always has and always will. • • • #blackgirlsillustrate #emergingonyx #digitalart #procreate #procreatedrawing #procreateartist #procreateart #ipadproartist #ipadpro #womenofillustration #illustration #illustratorsoninstagram #ladieswhodesign #blackartistspace #womenwhodraw #adobestudents_stayinspired #girlsmakingmagic #dopeblackart #youngblackartists #drawingwhileblack

Illustration has and continues to be an explorative tool in embracing my creative voice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The act itself is a constant reminder of my growth as an artist to the point my confidence as a creator has expanded beyond what I thought it was supposed to be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And today, I’m dreaming of a brightly coloured suit as I reflect on the decision to invest in my skills through multiple online classes and the iPad, just over a year ago, which has since forever changed my process of creation. ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #WomenWithAmbition #OnlineArt #ExploreToCreate #CreativityFound #BuildYourEmpire #MindsetIsEverything #SelfEmpowerment #ColorInspiration #DontQuitYourDayDream #GirlbossLife #ColorSplash #VisualCommunication #VisualDesign #LiveInspired #CreativeGrowth #WomenWhoConnect #CreativeWomen #GirlbossLife #WomenWhoDraw #BlackIllustrators #IllustratedDorris #CreateCultivate #CreativeDreams #CreativeMinds #Wildlogic #VisualDesign #Typeinspire #WomenOfIllustration #CreateandCultivate #DigitalIllustration #DigitalArtworks

it’s one of those big little things that meant so much to me. that daniel always asks when i’m going to take out my braids and bring my afro back. as a black woman with a thick coarse lion’s mane of 4c hair, I’ve mostly tried to keep it tamed in all kinds of braids and protective styles so I didn’t have to deal with it very much and also so I felt “prettier” Growing up I was always jealous of the long flowing locks of my white friends or the bouncy, lively curls of my mixed friends. Braids were the closest thing I could get to that unattainable goal. I still feel that way sometimes. But Daniel always sees right through it. After I take my braids out and I send him pictures, he always has the biggest goofiest grin and makes me feel so great. He loves playing with my coils which I *sometimes* permit ? Anyway, random musings within an interracial relationship in case you were curious ? it goes both ways actually. I cut daniel’s hair for the first time a few weeks ago — THAT was an adventure ?? be on the look out for an illustration about that fateful day ? #quarantineartclub #illustration #musings #heyitsdanyi #relationships #interracialcouple #swirlove #boymeetswirl #lovewell #artistsoninstagram #painting #illustration #supportblackartists #love #digitalart #instartist #artoftheday #creative #instagram #instagramartist #illustratorsofinstagram #artistsofig #artistoninstagram #pocartist #procreate #ipadart #youngblackartist #blackartist #blackart #blackartistspace
