What’s your background?

I was born and raised in Roxbury. I went to Boston Latin Academy (Ite Dracones!) and then went to Providence College where I majored in Public and Community Service Studies. After that, I spent a year working for the Boston Women’s Workforce Council, where I helped run their 100% Talent Compact. Prior to that, most of my experience was in direct service with youth which taught me a lot about problem-solving and thinking outside the box. I’ve also been a rock-climbing instructor and worked on a food truck, both of which are just as fun and exciting as they sound.

What will you be doing for She+ Geeks Out

I’m going to be Community Programs Manager, which I like to think of as being SGO’s wingwoman. It’s my job to make SGO look good and make people want to work with us. Basically, I’ll be helping to manage and expand SGO’s relationships with the larger community. Picture things like youth mentorship programs, cool events at local breweries, all sorts of new and exciting stuff.

What makes you excited about the She+ Geeks Out community?

I think the thing I’m most excited about is getting to learn from women doing all sorts of cool things in STEM. I’ve always enjoyed watching other people talk about their passions, so getting to meet all these women who are so smart and so talented is really energizing. Basically everyone I’ve met so far has been #Goals

What do you geek out about?

Is it possible to geek out about everything? Seriously. I’m one of those people who always has a new random obsession. For the past couple months I’ve been geeking out super hard about RuPaul’s Drag Race. But I also love plants and my books (I have… a lot).

What’s your favorite giphy?

This one. I like to use it when I’m surprised but also when someone seems to have forgotten who they’re talking to. Like “Excuse me?”
