Meet the incredible women and other marginalized genders who dedicate their time and energy to making She+ Geeks Out the geeky, exuberant, passionate community we aim to be!
Originally from San Antonio via Mexico City, I am a Boston University graduate and current MBA candidate at Babson College, F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. I have used her 10+ years in project/account management to drive success in cross-functional teams. A proud geek, I love fostering innovation, diversity and women inclusion in technology. In my free time, you can find me cooking at home with my husband, enjoying a cocktail with friends, or acting as an Instagram stage mom to my newly svelte 15 lb. cat, Santiago.
Originally from Chicago, I am now proudly living in Bushwick, Brooklyn. I work as a program manager at Pursuit, a 4 year program that teaches software development to adults with non traditional backgrounds that are underrepresented in tech. When I am not working with my amazing fellows, you can find me couchsurfing around the world, listening to old soul records or riding my bike around New York City.
I am an Emmy Award-winning Senior Digital Producer at WGBH Educational Foundation. I lead the development of digital games and experiences for children’s educational properties including PBS KIDS’s Design Squad and Plum Landing.
I am Co-Founder and Executive Director of Moms as Mentors, a non-profit dedicated to helping develop the next generation of influential female leaders, with an emphasis on helping moms foster girls’ confidence in STEM, entrepreneurship and politics. I also serve as the Director of Programs at VentureLab, a non-profit organization that is helping today’s youth to become tomorrow’s innovators and changemakers through experiential entrepreneurship education.
I am a full-stack web developer at CoUrbanize. I’m an avid knitter, a thirsty craft beer enthusiast, and a massive board game nerd. When I play RPGs, my alignment is Chaotic Good and there’s a 90% chance I’ll go rogue. Aside from work and SGO+ events, you can find me yelling about things on Twitter, and teaching games at PAX East as an Enforcer. This is not my chicken.
I am a visual communicator, driven by improving the human experience. I love to create engaging digital experiences that connect with customers and satisfy business objectives within an agile inspired process. As a Product Designer for ThirdChannel in Cambridge, I enjoy working collaboratively with my team building interactive solutions grounded by solid qualitative and quantitative research, user-centered design principles and industry best practices. I am a Canadian, an artist, world traveller, and a mad cookie baker…… I geek out about throwing parties with epic cheese board spreads and living it up in East Boston.
With over 15 years in product management, I have helped launch and create breakout products in industries ranging from healthcare to legal services to education for both b-to-b and b-to-c customers. My expertise is to extract business and product design from the ambiguity and morass of the marketplace through detailed research and contextual inquiry. Working together with developers and user design teams, I translated requirements into a viable end-user friendly products that contributed significant value and revenue to the organizations at which I worked, including athenahealth, Wolters Kluwer, and Harvard Business School.
I am a software product manager with experience in both consumer and enterprise products. I credit She+ Geeks Out with helping build my confidence while transitioning into a career in product management — and as a California native, for introducing me to a group of truly inspiring women in Boston. Talk to me about awesome software (and hair) products, travel bucket lists, and all things West Coast/Best Coast at an SGO event.
Alexandria Nunez-Bibby has a true passion for producing high quality events and cultivating strong relationships with volunteers and donors. Her passion for mass social impact grew during her time at United Way of Massachusetts Bay. As an Event Manager, she was responsible for planning and executing several key fundraisers, stewardship and brand awareness events. Alexandria worked at Boston College in the Alumni Association focusing on volunteer management for young alumni, and executing various events during Reunion Weekend. Her love for female empowerment programming grew during her time at Strong Women, Strong Girls as Volunteer & Engagement Officer. She is currently a Campus Recruiter at Klaviyo. In her spare time, you can find Alexandria lip-syncing to her favorite songs or perfecting her jazz hands technique!
My interests include dogs, Beyoncé, and playing with dogs while listening to Beyoncé. I’ve been in the Boston tech scene since 2010, currently leading Yesware’s People Operations. Before entering the real world, I graduated from the University of Richmond with degrees in Leadership Studies and Sociology and a concentration in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. That was where I first started getting involved in diversity and inclusion efforts, and I’m thrilled to continue that mission through this partnership with SGO.
I have a cat named Gizmo, my favorite DC super hero is Batman and Marvel is Captain Marvel. I bring Liberty Mutual to companies throughout Boston, is your company next?
As an Account Manager at Respondent, I work with clients to effectively and efficiently drive their research agendas. I use my background in sales and product management to better serve my clients to deliver results and lasting impact. If you see me at a She+ Geeks Out event, say hi! Meeting and chatting with new people is one of my favorite hobbies, along with sipping tea, concocting healthy potions, and searching for treasures at yard sales and antique shops.
Russian-born, Brooklyn-made, Boston-redesigned. I am a geek who loves tech, innovation, and social enterprise. I love serving as everything from Chair of Acumen+Boston to Speaker Trainer at TedxSomerville to co-founding City Awake. In my day jobs I’m doing everything from optimizing operations to project managing at two startups. I excel in building movements that galvanize people. I graduated magna cum laude from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a double major in Political Science and Critical Social Studies. After graduating, I bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok for a solo five-month trip to Southeast Asia. At home in Cambridge, I am a foodie who enjoys live music and yoga.
